THERE'S A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE IN EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US
There is a world of difference in every single one of us. I’ve always believed this. As I believe that we are each, in some way, a unique and individual awareness of nature. What if we focused that awareness? Extended it like we would an open hand to the universe? What if we focused? What if each of us found our unique gift and somehow harnessed it for both ourselves and all living creatures around us, big and small alike? What could we become? What is that world of difference that exists in every single one of us? It is our magical journey. It is what gives us joy. What gives us meaning. What gives us hope!
I asked myself these questions as the GLADiiUM Foundation was born in my heart. A beautiful part of life is that we can answer these questions any way we want. It really is up to us to paint the canvas. If we listen to our intuition. We can discover which questions to ask. And in those questions is where we will find the answers to ourselves. It is these questions which guide our journey. And in their answers we shape our destinies. It is how we truly realize that in our differences lie our greatest strengths. The GLADiiUM Foundation’s mission was founded on these questions. Our plans have always been ambitious. If we’re going to dream, we might as well dream big. As I always say when I have my one on one conversations with Life. Don’t just tell me “no.” Show me “how.”
We will leave this world better than we found it. That is our mission. It really can’t be any simpler. The GLADiiUM Company is distributed across various markets around the world and each bring their own beauty. Each bear their own burdens. I asked myself what are our corporate profits going to do. What will they account for? Shareholder value? What does that mean? More money in our pockets? In my partners’ pockets? To what end? When is how much money enough? Or do we measure our lives, do we measure our success in a different way? Does all that money truly make us successful? Or is it more?
I’d like to believe it is more. That money is an important means to an even more important end. How do we leave the world a better place? How do we pay it forward? We start with providing a means to those less fortunate a path of hope to realize their own best destinies. We enable others so that they may in turn one day enable us. Or better yet, enable those who will follow them. It will be up to them to do so. Just like it is up to us. But somebody will pay it forward, we’re certain of it. And therein lies our faith. We take on the challenge gladly.
We will give hope to those without a voice even if they may not know the what, the who or the why it was given. The importance is that it was given. We will continue to innovate so humans have the chance to go beyond what they already are. We will protect so that those who share this world with us do not suffer the cruelties of those who came before us. But this begs my favorite question of all, “how?” How will we do this? Let’s go…
As I always say when I have my one on one conversations with Life. Don’t just tell me “no.” Show me “how.”
We have started with our Project Africa. And the areas where help is needed are endless. So we focus. We are engaging with organizations, on the ground, to bring direct resource and relief to both people and animals most affected by the cruelties we as humans have inflicted upon ourselves. This plan will count on a budget of 10 cents of every dollar profit earned by the GLADiiUM Company given to these efforts. But these efforts are not only about giving money. They are about giving resources and results where money is a means through which we deliver them.
What does that mean? We want to collaborate with these organizations on the ground. Not just throw throw them money and call it a day. No, we want to participate in the thinking, the organization, the action that is needed on a daily basis. We like to believe that this is a community effort and most who dedicate a portion or all of their lives to these efforts do not see themselves as an island of one, but part of a bigger plan, one that brings people of all walks together in common causes for a unified good.
If we listen to our intuition. We can discover which questions to ask. And in those questions is where we will find the answers to ourselves. It is these questions which guide our journey. And in their answers we shape our destinies. It is how we truly realize that in our differences lie our greatest strengths.
The GLADiiUM Foundation was founded for its primary mission of giving opportunity and hope back to not only the communities we serve, but all creatures we come in contact with as temporary residents of this amazing world so that everything and everyone might have a chance at the life meant for them. We, therefore, as a group of partners decided to form this Foundation so that we could engage with our communities in the most impactful way possible. To this end, we as a foundation, and as an entire company will continue to evolve our vision and our mission. But we cannot do it without our communities. Only together do we stand valiant, do we stand strong. Together we will be that voice for those who who are weakest, for those who are most vulnerable.
